When it comes to researching our ancestors, we need all the help we can get. Technology is just one more tool in our toolbox and while it cannot tell us how to search or where to search, it can certainly make our search easier. From the new genealogy records that are being made available online everyday, to the software that helps your organise your research and to the hardware that makes capturing images and stories possible, technology is the best thing to happen to genealogists since the very first name was written down. After all, as Arthur Clarke said, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” and we could all use a little magic, couldn’t we?
